2010 Golf Tournament
2009 Golf Tournament
Coastal
Association of Health Underwriters (CAHU) presented a check of $3692 to the Tileston Health Clinic (THC) on September
1st. Present were Adam Leggett, Ron Sheffield, and Mike Smith of CAHU and Jan Metz, Gordon Boyd, and John
Devaney of THC. THC expresses deep gratitude to everyone involved in making the Golf Tournament a successful
event.
About 80 people attended this year's event, and once again Tileston Health Clinic was the recipient of
the proceeds.
The Tileston Health Clinic appreciates the Coastal Association of Health Underwriters for
their generosity. THC has been the beneficiary of past events
which have also been held at the Castle Bay Golf Course.
These events are successful because
of the efforts of many people. In particular,
· As in
2009, Charlie MacGrooders Restaurant of Leland provided box lunches for all before the tournament began.
The tasty food gave the golfers the energy needed to play in the hot sun...and it was one of the hottest days of
the summer.
·
While on the course Golfers were treated to a variety of
cool beverages supplied by RA Jeffreys Distributing Co. The drinks were much appreciated, especially since temperatures
were in the upper 90s.
·
At the end of the tournament, dinner was served, compliments
of UnitedHealthcare. This gave players a time to relax and unwind with good conversations and fellowship.
·
Staff and Volunteers worked together behind the scenes to
make sure the players’ needs were met. Without them, the afternoon would have been difficult.

Wrightsville Beach United Methodist Church sponsored a "Son Run"

volunteers, runners and walkers - young and old - participated in the event.

Trish Doyle, Jan Metz, Gloria Hill and
Chuck Ninos participated in the "Run."
The weather was perfect...a real "sun"
run under blue skies. Joining in the fun and representing Tileston were Trish Doyle, Jan Metz, Gloria Hill and Chuck
Ninos. The Tileston Health Clinic is thankful to everyone who took part in this endeavor.
We especially thank Wrightsville Beach United Methodist Church. This event was well-organized and well-attended,
and because of the humanity and generosity of the church community, two worthy organizations will be better able to support
the underserved in our community.
People wait to hear the result
of the "Run."
